How do you manually change your IP address?

Also If I have dialup is it always true that it’s a dynamic address and static?

  1. You can most often change your IP address by restarting your modem. As for your question about dial up – your IP changes every time you connect (or “dial up”), therefore it’s dynamic.

Whether you have dialup, dsl or cable, the ISP’s equipment sets the IP address.

It does not matter whether it is dynamic or static – their machine served the addresses.

if u right clck the conection icon,go to properties-tcp/ip-for static this radio button is selected
    use the following address:
    IP address
    subnet mask
    default gateway
for dialup connections most f the times it is a dynamic ip address

  6. in the network neighbour icon right click properties, and there in local area connection right click properties, and there you can change the ip address, put anything like 192.168.0.1 you can change the last 0 to 255 and yes, you can put anything there, like the 0-255 in any column, and the last 0 is for the computer bits, and the rest is for the network bits,

  7. Your IP is assigned to you and if you want to use a different one (really a fake one) there is software for that. Here is a good review:
