My wireless internet link is so slow. How can I improve its speed?




I used to be connected via a 64K leased line to my ISP. Eversince I switched to Wireless, The Internet link is so slow. the Bridge I am using is an Aconet 11MBps with a radius of 7km. My bridge antena is about 4km from the ISP’s access point.

    make sure ur Antenna is high and without any obstacle from the isp..
    call ur ISP for a repeater that will increase the data trasfer rate with more amplified bandwidth…

    the problem is duie to distance an it is the factor

    I would imagine that your ISP is responsible for setting up your connection. If I were you I would complain to them before I tried anything techincal. There are many complicated issues involved with setting up a wireless link, especially over the distance you have. They should have a staff of experienced techinicians that can help.

    Also, I disagree that a repeater is necessarily the answer. It might help but then again it might not. It will definitely decrease you bandwidth by half. That’s just the nature of how they work. So if the problem is some sort or interference, then you have decreased your bandwidth without fixing the problem. Again I think you need an experienced wireless technician to look at your specific situation to determine the problem.
