Deze clip bestaat uit de highlights uit haar speech van 43 minuten, Kroes spreekt over Europa2020, het plan van Commissiepresident Jose Manuel Barroso om de Europese economie aan te pakken. In dat plan speelt de ICT ontwikkeling een grote rol. “The Digital Agenda will consist of 6 key themes, which will have an impact on your daily life both as businesspeople and as citizens: Fast internet: this is the backbone of future business. How fast? At speeds like 100 megabits per second, you are sending and receiving important information quicker than you can blink your eyes. Digital Single Market: are you sick of it being hard to buy and sell things across borders when you are online? We aim to end this patchwork of national markets. Digital Citizenship: you need skilled workers; you want access to online public services; you deserve protection of your rights online. My co-ordinating role will make this a reality sooner. ICT research and innovation need greater priority: we don’t get amazing new technology by accident. It takes blood, sweat and tears and it also takes money. Yes! She is right. We should spend more on new technologies, including upgrading Internet infrastructure but also removing all the barriers for innovations and potential young entrepreneurs setting up companies. Look how far ahead of us on the Internet are companies like Google or other US based?! They practically own the Internet traffic resulting in owning the whole web!

The other very important topic related with Internet is financial domination by US banks and US brokerages access time to US and pan-European markets! Whit their algorithms, blackboxes and HFT 9000 units they simply rape our asses on a daily bases! I do see that well on a daily basis here in WSE but also on NYSE via TOS account. I’m saying it’s time to start removing barriers than talking about new targets … if we want to be competitive!

PS And the social security, pension system BOMB is ticking louder and louder not only in the US but closer to home! Time to think about that too or maybe all the EU member states including my own want to be next Greece if not California?! Time is running out and there is no prizes for losers ….
