Super Smash Bros. Brawl with Dial-Up
Many have been curious and have been asking me if Super Smash Bros. Brawl works on dial-up, since they have been playing Mario kart DS, Pokemon, and all the other Nintendo WFC practically flawlessly, and I’ve become some sort of ambassador to these people to work out the kinks and find what works and what doesn’t, and how we can work around it to have fun. An overasked question is “Can’t you just get DSL?”. Well, the answer for most people is simply “No” and it’s not because we’re cheap …

Sort of. I also have satellite with my Dad’s laptop, but I can’t use it to play online. It would be worse than dial-up, actually..
Otherwise, yes, it’s all I have and all I can get in my area.

… Why is it that my wi-fi is tons slower than your dial-up?

lol cuz Brawl’s wifi sucks monkey nuts. I’d suggest changing the channel on your router, or not playing online at all. I had to stop playing Brawl because I couldn’t take the above lag but I know some people who still can or think it’s a great connection lol.
So as you can imagine, Mario Kart Wii is phenomenal with dial-up, I’ve never had a single problem with it, I played it for 2 hours straight with a whole bunch of people at once.

Wrong video, asshole.

Anyway, I’m surprised that lag isn’t that bad. Are you using compression or something?
(Report comment)
Nope, not that I can tell, just a LinkSys wireless router shared with my dial-up connection, it’s that simple.

It’s bad enough to make me stop playing it online though, it gets old after a while lol
I just stick with Pokemon and occasionally Mario Kart Wii which is nearly flawless.
