High speed internet access without cable is not available in my area. I’m looking for something faster than aol dialup

when i am logged into my yahoo mail thru my aol, i do not have a message box when trying to send mail….everything else comes up, except the message box…this is recent….it never did this before…i must go to internet explorer, and send my mail…anyone else have this problem???

I have been using AOL forever and on my Dell computer the only way to access the internet is via AOL. I will soon be buying an Apple computer with which I am more familiar, since I use it at school. I was wondering if I didn’t have to rely on AOL for access to the internet even though it is my paid broadband connection. If I HAVE to still use AOL, is there a loop-hole of some sort? Also, if possible, what would be your advice on buying an Apple computer best suited for a University freshman. Thanks in advance

{Pop up blocker is NOT checked under Tools. I think what I meant to say is that I cannot click onto some URLs, cannot receive from American Greetings, cannot pay bills through MyCheckfree.com. This has only happened since I have been on IE. I cannot dialup AOL because of equipment moves. Before this, I could access anything. Help. Thanks.

My daughter has AOL as her internet provider.She has an access number for dialup that is local so when it was set up they did not have the areacode on it to dialup.As of yesterday she is required to dial the area code with any local number.So now she can not get on the net.Can anyone help us? We need to know how to add the areacode to the local dial up number.You must be very step by step detailed.We are both DUMB when it comes to computers!!!
