I’ve had dialup for 8 years and I’m SICK of it.?

I can’t even play games from when dialup was prominant, such as StarCraft or Counter-Strike. I want to run a small business, but there’s no WAY I’m going to do that from a dialup connection. There are no forms of broadband available to my house – DSL is out because of fiber optic lines, Verizon doesn’t service ISDN lines anymore, and cable is right across the road, yet in the numerous attempts to have them extend service, we have been denied. How can I get a faster connection other than shotgunning modems and paying like $5 per hour for it?
Please note that satellite internet is *NOT* a good alternative. Unless you like a lag time of about 2 full seconds. :)

How can I monitor my phone line?

I am looking to find a way to record all incoming calls to my home for business reasons. I figure that I probably should get a dialup modem and some kind of program to do the recording. Does anyone know of a good program? I want something that will record calls automatically to my computer without me having to do anything except pick up the phone. Thanks.

What routers are the best, if you are a dialup ISP?

If you are going to be a small to medium business, it would be helpful if you know a specific model.
