How can I set up my computer so that you need a password to access the internet?
I want my family to be able to use the computer, but not get on the internet without my permission. I have DSL.
I have Verizon DSL. Someone answered that I could just not store my password. How do I do that?
how do you get access to public records? internet, office somewhere?
I looked up my family name on ancestry.com and public records keep coming up. However, to view them, you need to pay a fee to ancestry.com. Where can i get the records for free?

Notebook from which brand would last longer (after 1st year warranty is expired!)…?
I want to buy notebook 15″ or 17 ” for my sisters family, so I wonder which notebook brand could I put my faith in…They are not very PC skilled so they wouldn’t be raping it all the time, maybe Internet, photos from digital camera, Internet, some movies, etc. I don’t want to pay 3 yrs warranty, because some (like Sony, Samsung and Apple are VERY expensive!), and therefore I would like to know for which laptop brand or type could I hope to have a reasonably long life 3-5 years…Friends told me HP, Lenovo and some Dell’s notebooks…Any suggestions? Also, is it true that watching movies on a laptop fries motherboard? Some laptops today, ie. Dell Latitude E6400 have Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500, which can have betwen 1300 and 1800 MB graphic memory, depending on RAM, so shouldn’t they be able play movies without any problems?
Also, which brand is cheapest to repair (you’ll probably say Acer, but I just wanted to make sure!)?
Should I go with Asus (2 year warranty without extra money!)?

How can I enter into an already-existing wireless network?
My family is going to be getting a wireless internet thing, which they will be arranging for 2 computers, but they won’t let me gain access. Is there a way I can get around whatever they may do and use the internet anyway?
they won’t give me the password, but I may be able to find it on a slip of paper somewhere.
Oh, and it’s not becasue I’m not doing my homework. :rolls eyes: lol

Where to find internet access in Puebla / Cholula, Mexico?
I’ll be studying at the Universidad de las Americas in Cholula this summer and staying with a host family in Puebla. Any idea where I can find internet access/web cafes/etc. in this area of Mexico? Thanks!
