I noticed that my Internet Explorer is no longer automatically writing the letters http:// when I click GO or press enter.
I used to type www.yahoo.com to access Yahoo!. Now I have to type http://www.yahoo.com. Does anyone know how to re-enable this function. It’s really a pain. Thanks
It seems this problem was caused by a recent Microsoft security update. Mike Z’s suggestion seems to have worked for some, but when I copy and paste his line (and rewrite e xe as exe and o ld as old) and press enter it says “The syntax of the command is incorrect” More help Mike please!

I’m using the explorer 6 provided with verizon/yahoo dsl. Just switched over from dialup and already my firewall log is loaded with hack attemps and all kinds of port scans.

as the title says, i’ve been having trouble finding a dial up accelerator for online games, i’ve found a lot for http boosting but none for gaming. i can’t afford dsl or other internet which is why i am asking. if any1 finds a dial up accelerator for games. plz post it here, much thanks ~!!! ^-^
