I opened network connections but i only have a 1394 connection. I have tried to make a new connection but it says it is already hooked up. but no icon… i do have activity on my cable modem. It does connect on my laptop.
Do i need the LAN icon in the network b4 I try to start the modem config? If so how do i make that setting. I only see how to make dialup and crap connections, nothing on cable broadband connections

What do you think is better if you just need the ability to access outlook e-mail, write papers, and access the Internet on the go? I am going to school online and I also work full time in sales so I am always moving. I have a good computer at home and work I just need something for in between here and there. What would you recommend? And should I lease or buy if I am only planning on really using it for a few years. I kind of think that leasing is a good idea since technology changes so fast. If I buy then it would just be obsolete in a few years. Let me know what you think.

Honestly speaking, I don’t know anything about laptop or internet or any technical terms in the world of computers so if you can pls explain it to me in details (ie. what gadgets I need, how does it works, etc…) I would appreciate it a lot.

my laptop stopped working and so i’m trying to find a new one to get. i found a netbook, but i’m not sure if it’s what i need. i don’t need it to play games but i’ll be primarily using it to write my school papers, go on the internet, chat on things like oovoo, and edit pics and videos. is this a good choice for me and if not can you recommend something else? ( i also can’t spend a lot)

Hi, I am going to Spain for the summer and I would like to buy a netbook/mini laptop to bring with me. The only things I want it for are: 1. internet access; 2. uploading my digital photos from my camera 3. watching DVDs 4. word processing.
I am told that where I am going has wireless internet access (as to what type I have absolutely no idea).
I know hardly anything about computers and find all the specs so confusing! If someone could list what specs I should look for that would be really helpful! I’ve also included the info on two laptops I’ve been looking at – will they be good enough?
