will this make my nephew’s notebook computer wireless? CNet Wireless-G PC Card He is currently on dialup?

I am considering purchasing a new notebook computer with Wireless 802.11B. I would like to use this computer at my exercise studio where I have no phones or Internet access. My studio is located in Mooresville NC. Can someone tell me what if any wireless internet would be possible with this new computer and at what cost? Would it work? Is there a connection charge? I use the internet at home with a DSL connection. Can I extend my reach with a notebook?
