why is there no JVM option “-server” in IE6 win xp sp2?? is there a way to get it there?

probs w/ J2SE RE 1.5.0_06 plug-in…….there is no JVM option *-server” in IE->tools->internet options->advanced tab…..is there a way to get it there because there are settings missing that could be of use. (example: enable JIT compiler for VM -option cannot be accessed. whenever i play yahoo spades, upon exit, IE appears to close, but is still on the taskbar. the only way to close it is from task manager. after finally closing, there is an error msg “internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close…..”. (i’ve stopped sending error reports, this has gone on for so long). also PC is VERY slow when starting up or rebooting. (sometimes takes up to 3 mins to finish loading). i’ve had this prob since getting windows updates. i’m running emachines T3414. i have norton antivirus 2006 and webroot spy sweeper installed and they both start automatically when windows starts. i’ve uninstalled all unnecessary programs from add/remove hardware and defragmented C:/ drive

Websites Show my Yahoo Instant Messanger as offline when I am Online Why?

I have shut down and even uninstalled firewalls, spy protection software and everything else I can think of, nothing seems to work! in YIM itself it says I am available and I am not invisible or stealth mode my preferences are not set to hide my online status, yet every website shows me as offline. Yahoo help is no help. I only found something about proxy setting bbut know nothing about that. I have one computer at home that is it. I have sbc yahoo DSL. SO I thought it would work! Any Ideas! I am not very computer smart so speak details please!
I have my status set to available and I do not have the box checked to hide my online status. I have also checked everything under preferences and been through all off the yahoo help website suggestions. I am not in stealth mode or set to invisable. My YIM tells me I am available. Websites themselves say I am offline.
